THE LATE BILL FULLER
William J. (Bill) Fuller, of Las Vegas, passed away late Monday night, July 28, 2008, in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 91 years old. Born in Glenoe, Listowel, he moved to London as a young man, starting work in construction. As his business grew, he expanded into entertainment and nightlife, opening a series of ballrooms and hotels in England and Ireland, among them The Electric Ballroom in Camdentown, which remains popular to this day. "Bill" Fuller moved to New York City in the 1950's, and reopened City Center in Manhattan as a premier concert hall and ballroom. As with many of his venues, City Center became a haven for Irish immigrants young and old. Bill relocated to Las Vegas in the late 1960's, where he became involved in the mining industry in Western Nevada. Bill is survived by his daughters, Mary, Jane, Terry and Kate; his sons, Stephen and Sean; and his grandchildren, Ciara, Kevin, Christina, Una Leigh, Tess and Ronan, his extended family and friends, to whom we offer the sincere sympathy of the community. Memorial services was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at the Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way, in Las Vegas.
A Memorial Mass will be held for him at St Michael's Church, Lixnaw, Co. Kerry on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 12 noon, after which his ashes will be laid to rest in Kilfeighney Cemetery, Lixnaw. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
